ORANGE BLOSSOM Euganean Hills DOCG
ORANGE BLOSSOM Euganean Hills DOCG
100% Yellow Muscat
The Moscato family is quite large and it is difficult for any scholar to classify it. It is known that the Moscato grape variety comes from Greece, where it was cultivated to produce very fine sweet wines. It was the Romans, who particularly appreciated this type of grape, who spread it on the Euganean Hills. Moscato Giallo is very different from Moscato Bianco, both in its external appearance (it takes on an intense yellow color when ripe) and in other characteristics, but it retains the characteristic aromatic note that earned it the name Moscato.
The grapes arriving at the cellar are destemmed, cooled to a temperature of 7-8°C and softly pressed using a pneumatic press. The must obtained is placed in a steel tank for 12 hours at a controlled temperature to clarify and then racked. It is partially fermented at a controlled temperature of 18-20°C until it reaches an alcohol content of around 5-6% vol, so that the wine remains slightly sweet. After being cooled and filtered, it is left for a short period in special tanks, where, with the addition of yeasts , it is refermented for a period ranging from 40 to 90 days. Bottled and corked with the characteristic mushroom cap, it is put on the market after a few months.
